In-house design, fully enclosed.

The gearbox is the component that delivers the power for brushing. We have developed our own planetary gearbox, completely sealed against dirt and moisture.

What you will notice

A gearbox that performs its job, even in environments full of dust and moisture.

Installation? Simple.

Mount on:

It does not matter where the Cosy Pig is attached: brick, concrete, an I-beam, or a steel post — as long as the underlying structure is sturdy enough, the brush can be mounted anywhere. On walls using wall anchors or expansion bolts, on posts using bolt and nut or U-brackets. Thanks to our modular design, installation is easy and requires no specialized tools or technical expertise.

Due to the wide variety of mounting options, wall or post mounting hardware is not included as standard, but the design fully accounts for this. The required materials are commonly available everywhere.

Placement and group size

The location of the brush determines how often it is used.

A few practical principles apply to placement:  Preferably choose a junction (1) or an end wall (2) in the barn: there is usually sufficient space here without the brush blocking the walkway. Do not place the brush in a dead-end corner (3), so that a pig can always move away from a dominant animal. Additionally, ensure there is enough space so that other pigs can pass the brushing animal; the exact amount of space required depends on the size of the pigs in the herd.  A Comfy dealer or barn outfitter will be happy to assist with the barn layout.

Passage required? Swing the brush aside. The swing-away system is an add-on that can be purchased and can essentially be mounted on any Comfy brush. This allows you to rotate the brush 90 degrees to the side, allowing free passage for work and machinery.View the swing-away system →

Animal welfare is paramount

Cleaner skin, calmer animal.

Pigs naturally rub against fences, walls, and stable equipment to maintain their skin and relieve itching. A fixed brush gives this behavior a safe, dedicated place in the pen. What you will notice Pigs that actively seek out the brush themselves and rub less against the stable equipment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cosy Pig itself has no technical limit on the number of pigs per brush. In practice, the maximum depends primarily on local regulations or other welfare requirements — not on the brush itself.

Preferably choose a junction or an end wall in the barn: there is usually sufficient space here without the brush blocking the walkway. Avoid dead-end corners, so a pig can always move away from a dominant animal. Additionally, ensure enough space for other pigs to pass the brushing pig — the exact space required depends on the size of the pigs in the herd. A Comfy dealer or barn equipment specialist would be happy to assist in planning the layout.

As a rule of thumb: mount the bottom of the wall plate approximately 15 cm above the shoulder height of the pigs in your herd.

Thanks to the efficient 24V, 3-phase motor, the brush consumes on average only 0.12 kWh under normal load. Low energy consumption, even with intensive use of up to 18 hours per day.

The Cosy Pig is equipped with a UHP-350-24 power supply, which can handle a wide voltage range from 90V to 250V. As a result, the brush effortlessly absorbs voltage dips and peaks — for example, caused by a weak power grid, solar panels, or other equipment on the same connection. Stable operation, regardless of the quality of your mains power.

The built-in overload protection ensures that the brush automatically rotates in the opposite direction, causing the tail to release itself. Safety is integrated as standard.

Our brushes operate on average 18 hours per day, year after year, without maintenance. That is why we offer a 3-year warranty — an investment that pays for itself many times over.

No. The Cosy Pig is delivered plug-and-play and has a modular design. With a weight of only 45 kg, installation is simple, even without technical prior knowledge.

Yes. Thanks to the flow-start system, the brush always starts automatically in the correct direction of rotation, regardless of which side the animal approaches from. Furthermore, the brush can rotate both clockwise and counter-clockwise, which ensures even load on the bristles and extends the service life.
