COW BRUSH

Cosy Cow

Compact, swinging, reliable. Increases the well-being of your cows.

“In continuous use from sunrise to sunset, because cows want to use it constantly.”

That intensive, continuous load? Day after day, season after season, that is exactly why we do not compromise on reliability. No maintenance. No downtime.

3-year warranty. Our cow brushes run an average of 18 hours per day, and they do this year after year, without maintenance.

The technology

In-house design, fully enclosed.

The gearbox is the component that provides the power for brushing. We have developed our own planetary gearbox, fully sealed against dirt and moisture.

What you will notice

A gearbox that does its job, even in an environment full of dust and moisture.

Moves with the cow

The brush moves freely with the shape of the animal, from head to tail, reaching every spot.

How the flowstart system works

01

Starts on movement

As soon as the cow pushes against the brush, the PCB registers the tilt. The motor starts immediately, without a button or timer.

Installation? Simple.

Mounting on:

It does not matter where the Cosy Cow is attached: brick, concrete, an I-beam, or a steel post — as long as the underlying structure is sturdy enough, the brush can be mounted anywhere. To walls with wall anchors or expansion bolts, to posts with bolt and nut or U-bolts. Thanks to our modular design, assembly is also simple, requiring no specialized tools or technical knowledge.

Due to the wide variety of mounting options, the wall or post mounting hardware is not included as standard, but the design has fully taken this into account. The necessary materials are readily available everywhere.

Placement and group size

Where the brush is located determines how often it is used.

A few practical principles apply to placement: Preferably choose a junction (1) or an end wall (2) in the stable: there is usually sufficient space here without the brush blocking the walkway. Do not place the brush in a dead-end corner (3), so a cow can always move away from a dominant animal. Additionally, ensure there is enough space so that other cows can pass the grooming cow; the exact amount of space required depends on the size of the cows in the herd. A Comfy dealer or stable builder will be happy to advise on this during the stable layout process.

Animal welfare is paramount

Less mastitis, more milk.

A Cornell University study followed four comparable groups of cows on a US dairy farm for six months, with and without a mechanical cow brush. For cows in their second lactation, daily milk production increased by approximately 3.5%. The number of clinical mastitis (udder inflammation) cases decreased by 34% in the second and subsequent lactations. From the moment the brushes were active, the cows used them intensively. What you will notice Healthier cows, fewer mastitis cases, and a measurable increase in milk production in part of the herd.
